Mother Doctor Diana Priscilla Jones, left this world on March 6, 2025, in Orlando, Florida. Diana's life was a profound testament to her unwavering dedication to education, her family and her church.

Dr. Jones was born on December 17, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland, a daughter of Dotsey and Beulah Campbell.

She attended Farrell Area High School. She earned herAssociate and Bachelor’s degrees in Nursing from Indiana University. She then went on to also earn her Master’s degree from Purdue University and a Doctorate in Education from Northern Illinois University.

She met and married the love of her life, Lawrence Jones and to this union, one daughter, Deidre, was born.

Dr. Diana Priscilla Jones worked as a Registered Nurse for over 50 years and an esteemed professor of Nursing, celebrated for her exceptional contributions to academia during her tenure as a professor at Slippery Rock University and Chicago State University. In addition to her teaching roles, she was a dedicated member of several prestigious organizations, including Sigma Theta Tau, Phi Theta Kappa, and the past President of The Association of Black Nurses and Faculty (ABNF). Her involvement in these organizations reflected her commitment to professional excellence and her dedication to advancing the fields of education and nursing. Dr. Jones was known for her ability to inspire and motivate students, fostering a love for learning and critical thinking. Her legacy as an educator par excellence continues to influence the academic community, even after her passing, as her impact on students and colleagues remains profound and enduring.

A devoted mother, Diana, is survived by her beloved and only daughter, Deidre Jones, and son-in-love, Ricardo Laporte. Her legacy continues to inspire all who knew her, exemplifying the strength, grace, and resilience that she embodied throughout her life. She is also mourned by her brother, Donald (Lee) Campbell, whose memories with her will forever be cherished.

Diana was predeceased by several family members who played significant roles in her life. Her husband, Lawrence Jones, parents, Dotsey Campbell and Beulah Campbell, and her siblings, James Campbell, Cornell Pegues, Jerome Campbell, Carolyn Lampkins, and Gwendolyn Blackwell, have all passed before her, leaving an indelible mark on her heart and spirit.

A vibrant presence in the community, Diana was passionate about serving others and made her mark through her work and dedication. She will be remembered not only for her professional accomplishments but also for her kindness and compassion towards all individuals.

In honor of her life, two visitation events will be held. The first will take place on March 15, 2025, at 3:30 PM at New Life Church COGIC located at 3311 N Powers Dr, Orlando, FL 32818. Following this, a funeral service will also be conducted on March 15, 2025, at 4:30 PM, also at New Life Church COGIC.

Another visitation will take place from March 21, 2025, beginning at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Temple of Praise Cathedral COGIC, 664 Cedar Ave, Sharon, PA 16146. The final funeral service will be held on March 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Greater Mount Zion Church of God In Christ, located at 1825 Roemer Blvd, Farrell, PA 16121. She will be laid to rest in Pennsylvania, in honor of her wishes.

Dr. Diana Priscilla Jones will be profoundly missed by her family and the many lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved and served.
