It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Edward Branton, Sr., who departed this life on October 15, 2024, at the age of 70. Wayne was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and a friend to many.

Wayne's memory will forever be cherished by his beloved wife of 49 years, Doneilda Branton, his daughter, Donneta Bellamy, and his son, Wayne Branton, Jr., along with his daughter-in-law, Amber Branton. He leaves behind cherished memories with his surviving siblings: Artis (Bug) Branton, Ephrim (E.H.) Branton, Sarah Glass, and Thelma Finley. Wayne was a proud grandfather to Mickayla Bishop, Nicholas Bellamy, Nicole Bellamy, and Deacon Branton, as well as a beloved step-grandfather to Gabriel Bellamy, Brianna White, and Tess Porter. He adored his great-grandchildren Jacoby Phelps, Jayde Bishop, Alice VanMeter, Oliver VanMeter, and Malaki McCubbins. In addition, Wayne leaves behind multiple nieces and nephews,

He was preceded in death by his parents, Artis and Beatrice Branton, and his siblings, Billy Flecher, George Branton, Marvin Branton, Betty Burke, Beatrice Kojack, Peggy Pearson, and Patsy Branton. He is also joyfully reunited with his grandson, Curtis Phelps, whose memory he held dear throughout his life.

Wayne was a man of unwavering character, known for his sharp sense of humor, and a strength that anchored those around him.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy lives on through the love he shared and the family he built. His presence will forever be cherished by his loved ones.

A memorial service will be held in Wayne's honor on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Ganderson Brothers Mortuary in Lake Mary, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. The family appreciates your thoughts, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
